My 2011

2011. What a year! Tears and laughter. Part of what has happened is very private, so I won’t write about that here in my blog. I think the main question this year has been ”How will it go?” and somehow everything has worked out. And now 2012 begins. I think this year will work out too…

I have tried to select some special happenings from 2011.

Car-change of the Year
Roine and I work together. For a long time, we have had two cars, but when Roine stopped bowling, we didn’t really need both. In the spring, we replaced our Suzuki Swift and Suzuki Grand Vitara with a Nissan Qashqai. The Qasqai is rather big, but it consumes less gas than the little Swift. That’s cool!

Proud Mom of the Year
In April, we were invited to the premiere of the short film Snygga Bröst/Cupcakes. Alice plays one of the two leading roles. In autumn, the film participated in a couple of film festivals, and we were very happy to learn that Snygga Bröst won prizes at the Los Angeles New Wave International Film Festival. Second best in the category Short Films, Best Screen Play, Alice was Best Female Actor, and Best Female Supporting Actor was Rebecca Karlsson. Amazing!

Tech Silver-medal of the Year
Naturally, it goes to my cat Silver, who, during a couple of days, was very interested in my iPad. But then he was content. After that, he prefers the IRL world…

The Musical Surprise of the Year
At the opening of Fotografiska at Furillen sang a fantastic girl named Frida Sundemo. Her voice was clear like crystal. I am so glad that we got the opportunity to hear her sing.

Best Travel of the Year
or why not
The Best Tour

In August, Roine and I went to Finland. Both our moms were born in Finland, so it was like ”going back to our roots”. I have been to Finland once before, but it was Roine’s first time. It turned out to be probably the best tour we ever made.

Saddest of the Year.
The death of Steve Jobs. We have loved Apple since 1989. Steve has been our idol. Since he was ill for a long time, his death was expected. But of course, so sad. Now I’m reading Steve’s biography, and I realise I might have some trouble accepting parts of his behaviour if I ever had the opportunity to meet him. But that doesn’t change the fact that Apple makes the super best stuff!

Åsa Stenström

Market communication consultant

I live and work on Gotland, Sweden’s biggest island, right in the middle of the Baltic Sea. I’m interested in many things and somehow I happened to start four blogs with different content.

Asa In the Middle of the World is in English and is also about life on this island, but the content has changed to be more about Apple. I’m very interested in Apple and since 1989 I’m a Happy Apple User.
