Swan-qi at New Years Eve

We are accumulating power to get a good start on the new year and one of the things we’ve done is to take a walk to the beach. There were a lot of swans who probably also was accumulating power. They moved very calmly and gracefully – well, until they turned their bottoms up to munch seaweed. The swans may excuse me saying this, but they really look fun with that fat, white bottom straight up in the air and black rubber feet paddling to keep the balance.

The sea level is unusually high and since the temperature is around zero there was crispy ice by the water’s edge.
